What we do
Providing on the ground field support to the 60+ community conservation groups in our region (establishing & marking new trap & bait lines; track & trap maintenance; rodent and bird monitoring; capturing data on Trap NZ)
Holding training workshops to ensure best practice is being followed
Bringing in incremental revenue to support Hauraki Coromandel conservation efforts & developing a sustainable finance programme to reduce dependency on grants
Assisting with emergency Cyclone recovery field work - opening up predator control tracks made impassable by storm felled trees and debris
Establishing ongoing Region-wide Monitoring for vulnerable species like kiwi and bittern and vegetation plots
Showcasing the positive impact of Hauraki Coromandel conservation groups at a regional and national level
Helping new groups to get started - connecting and expanding our total area under protection
Supporting the establishment of an iwi led trap building enterprise

Predator Free Hauraki Coromandel Community Trust is a registered charitable entity in terms of the Charities Act 2005. Registration #CC2684951. Because we are a registered New Zealand charity, donations are officially eligible for tax credit. See our Charities Commission Certificate of Registration here. For every donation we will send a tax receipt automatically to the email address provided.
The support from our generous sponsors and donors is crucial to the ongoing success of our organisation. Without it, the achievements we’ve already made would not have been possible. Administrative costs are kept to a minimum so that the maximum percentage of your donation goes towards our projects.
