Region-wide Kiwi Call Survey
In 2022 Predator Free Hauraki Coromandel Community Trust (PFHCCT) began the first of a three-year kiwi monitoring programme through Jobs for Nature Funding under the Kiwi i te Kāinga project.

Region-wide Matuku Survey
In 2023 a baseline survey was conducted by local volunteers which included 29 monitoring sites. The intention is that this region-wide survey will be repeated annually to track population distribution.
